How to Select the Tint for your Lenses?

The Use of Tinted Lenses overlays to improve visual health, comfort and good-looking. There are a wide variety of Tint Colors available from Direct-Optic.fr. We can make Uniform and Shade off Tints as well as apply the Mirror effect on your lenses. All our tinted lenses are UV400 coating.

We propose 3 levels of tints. Each level relates to the 3 light transmission factor:

15% is the Category 0

These tints are light. They are often used for good-looking and visual comfort.

50% is the Category 1

These tints are suitable for outdoor protection from the sun but not extreme light situations. They are often used for all-weather, winter and driving conditions.

85% is the Category 3

These tints are generally used during bright light conditions such as midday sun, winter and summer holidays activities.

Information about each Color of Tint:

Lenses with Grey Tint

Good general for natural color looking. This tint is recommended for Hyperopia prescriptions.

Lenses with Brown Tint

Increase contrasts and improve the quality of your eye vision. This tint is recommended for Myopia prescriptions.

Lenses with Yellow Tint

Very good at increasing contrasts in low-light and dark environments.

Lenses with Green Tint

Good for relaxing while reducing the natural color looking. This tint is recommended for Hyperopia prescriptions.

Lenses with other Color Tints

The other colors such as Blue or Pink are often used for good-looking and visual comfort but not sunlight protection.

Uniform Tint and Shade off Tint

Mirror Effect

The Mirror Effect increases the protection from light Transmission while improving your good-looking and visual comfort.
